95 Royale, Kid Koala, Nicolas Jaar

Today is Wednesday, and also the end of a great internship with the Northeast Organic Farming Association.

95 Royale hails from the land down under, specifically Brisbane, and offers some loopy discoux goodness.

I was just introduced to Kid Koala via reddit, and his turntable skills are damn fine.  Like Birdy Nam Nam, but with two less people and just as many worldly samples.  Plus, he currently plays in a Koala suit because he lost a bet to his manager.  He and DJ Shadow did this collaboration on Bombay 2: Electric Vindaloo, which featured artists from around the world with the running theme that all samples be from Indian films.  If you like this, check out his live interpretation of "Moon River".

Lastly, Nicolas Jaar should be a lot more well known than he is right now.  Besides the music, his commentary on music and dance culture is refreshing, and reminds me of shit Aphex Twin used to talk about with IDM.
Get his BBC Essential Mix, and see how his 5-hour set at MoMA PS1 went.
