I'm From Barcelona - "Always Spring" & "Get In Line"

Awwww yeah, new Barcelona. These guys are the happiest band in the world, it's infectious. These songs sound a lot more like the stuff on their first album, which is great because the last one was what is this I don't even. This is the first & second single off their new album 'Forever Today'. Download both below, and check out the video for "Get In Line". Thanks to Inflatable Ferret for the linkage.

I'm From Barcelona - "Get In Line"

The Brotherhood of The Screaming Abyss

For those who aren't familiar with Terence or Dennis McKenna, they're two of the most insightful and well spoken scientists to have ever been involved with psychedelics, shamanism and ethnopharmacology. Terence McKenna was the unofficial spokesman for the post-psychadelic movement that's taken place in the last 30 or so years, and his brother Dennis was responsible for much of the research done for his books. Terence passed away in 2000, and Dennis has started a mission to catalog their journey through space and time over the last couple decades by writing a book. By teaming up with Erowid.org and Kickstarter, he's raised a shitload of money, but more help couldn't hurt.

Iron Horse - 'Pickin on Modest Mouse'

I can't think of a project that has brought two more diverse elements together. Maybe when the Flaming Lips did all of 'Dark Side of The Moon' with Henry Rollins and The Peaches, but that's neither here nor there. Iron Horse is a bluegrass group known for their covers, and this album, as the title neatly states, is all Modest Mouse. Muchas gracias for this one, Erin.

Trampled by Turtles - "Wait So Long"

I've never heard grass played quite like this. "Beardgrass" or "Banjocore" are the two most applicable genres if you want to classify this song. This is the single off TBT's recent release 'Palomino', and it's fucking awesome. I don't think most humans can even play a banjo at that speed, or release three consecutive albums that don't have a bad track on them. This is all I've been listening to for weeks, and I still haven't found a song to disagree with. Check out the video below, and then two incredible covers below that. If you love this long time, go buy 'Blue Sky and the Devil'.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - "40 Day Dream"

Another (3rd) installment in the series of extended music videos for all the songs from 'Up From Below'. It makes me want to abandon all personal wealth / material belongings to go join a traveling band of gypsy's and live a simpler live in Joshua Tree filled with horses, shamans and fireside jam sessions. Some day...

Temper Trap - "Love Lost (Keljet Remix)"

This is a few weeks late, I don't frequent the intershits as much at home. This song is perfection. Throw on a pair of headphones and let some delicious aural treats satisfy those hungry ear holes.

Wax - 'Scrublife Mixtape'

Until two nights ago I had never heard of this dude. His voice sounds like Chris Webby, but his rhymes are nothing like that college nonsense. Wax absolutely kills it on 'Scrublife', he's got seriously eloquent and intelligent flow. For a taste, check out the track below "2010 Till Infinity", and then maybe download the whole mixtape below for free. Thanks to Tait and Senor Zemora for showing me this.

"But as the plot gets thicker, it's way more music, a lot less liquor
For years I've been on that party all night shit,
This year I'm on some take charge of my life shit"

Red Hot Chili Peppers - 'Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-Head'

That's right folks, the RHCP are back in action. I'll still never understand why John Frusciante had to leave to pursue his various substance habits full time, but a new guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, and a new album just about make up for it. The working title for the album is 'Dr. Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-Head', named after one of a fellow musicians legendary acid trips.

Straight from the horses mouth, "We found it so funny that we told him for as long as the album was under the radar, that that would be our nickname for it. He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips, and told us that he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number-one hit was, well, that title." - Anthony

Mark your calenders, August 2011 is going to be a good month. Then listen to the solo at the end of "Parallel Universe" below. And John Frusciante- I hope you're alive and well wherever you are.

Incubus - "Adolescents"

It's been 5 years since anyone last heard a peep from Incubus. Birds the word, that's about to change on July 12th when 'If Not Now, When?' is slated to be released. "Adolescents" is the first single off of the album, and it's everything I've missed about Incubus. It's not worthwhile to describe such a versatile and talented band, so just listen and await.

VasudevA - 'Roots of The Tree EP'

"I am a part of all that I have met."- Alfred Lord Tennyson

The official, long awaited E.P from NJ natives VasudevA. There is so much sound and energy packed into each track, you can listen to the album on repeat and hear each song differently every time. Think of them as a constantly evolving creature that absorbs every other style of music, kind of like a really talented and wise Jigglypuff. However, unlike Jigglypuff, they become much greater and decidedly different than the sum of their parts.
Download the E.P for free in 320 below and listen for yourselves, it's awesome.

HotSauceCommitteePartTwo

God damn, it's like they never even stopped playing. The 9th studio album from the Beastie Boys, 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two', is expected to explode outward into the earth's atmosphere in a little more than 48 hours. After seeing the 25-minute promo video featuring Seth Rogan, Will Ferrel, Elijah Wood, Jack Black and Danny McBride, and hearing the first track "Make Some Noise", I can't get enough. From what I've heard so far, it sounds as instrumentally funky as 'The Mix Up', which is the best news ever; That shit was awesome and I have no doubt this will be too.
Stream the entire album right now? Why not. But before you do that, just watch the promo video.
