Yonder Mountain String Band @ The Beacham (2/16/12)

The annual Yonder-thon was held last night at The Beacham Theatre in downtown Orlando. I was 30 minutes late and missed them covering John Hartford's "Howard Hughes Blues", but all was not lost. It was a "best of" show, and Yonder got everyone all hot and bothered and sweaty. However, apparently there were an unprecedented amount of assholes in attendance, and someone ruined the show pre-encore by throwing a big ol' cup of ice on stage.
Check the set below, and download them jams.

Sigur Rós - "leif af lífi (recycled by sigur rós)"

At first I thought this song was mislabeled, but after reading the rest of the soundcloud page,
"von brigði is a remix album and was released in Iceland 1998. It contains remixes of songs from 'von' by various Icelandic electronic acts, including one track by Sigur Rós themselves. The track, called "leif af lífi", was originally supposed to be on 1997's von but mixing could not be finished in time."

Well, here it is 14 years later. God damn European releases. Sigur Rós remixes, goes D&B, then proceed to claim victory over the ears of all listeners.

In an effort to spend less time on the internet, I've been spending significantly less time on the internet. All the time that's been freed up is now dedicated to Skyrim and reddit. It's a sad state of affairs.

John Hartford - "Get No Better"
John Hartford is the truth. Boy did the best damn pickin' this side of the Mississippi.

The Devil Makes Three
"Help Yourself"
"They Call That Religion"
"This Life"
This trio of foot stompin' live cuts were just released on the 'Stomp and Smash: Live at the Mystic Theatre'. Bluegrass with a DIY edge.

Blockhead - "Cherry Poker"
Blockhead is a Manhattan based hip-hop producer with a funky low-key sound, and has done work with Murs, Slug, Aesop Rock and a personal favorite, Mac Lethal. This is off of his solo instrumental album, 'Downtown Science'.

Birdy Nam Nam - "Jazz is at Home"
4 French DJ's, one hell of a show. I've never heard anyone use turntables like this. Check out the video below of them doing "Violons" live if you have any doubt.
