Tiger Army

Awesome psychobilly. Little known fact: Fred Hell, their drummer, was shot 4 times, once in the head, and still did the studio drumming for the album. These are both off of 'Tiger Army II: The Power of Moonlite'. Enjoi

Pretty Lights - "Country Roads"

I had my doubts about David Smith. After my friend told me how awesome the Pretty Lights set was at All Good this past weekend, I've since looked into it and changed my mind. A bunch of kids posted on his facebook asking him to remix this song or include it in his set, since it would just be so damn appropriate. Boom, delivery. Even my mom says this is better than the John Denver version.

Avicii - "Levels (Clockwork remix)"

Was the original mix really good? Of course. In true alchemist fashion, everything Tim Berg touches turns to gold. Does Clockwork make it better? Well, there's not that much of a remix here, but it's definitely a different take on the song.
One grilled Aviciise sandwich. Extra crispy, brah.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez & John Frusciante

Self-titled E.P from the incredibly talented and prolific duo, released back in May of 2010. As usual, it's basically an hour long jam cut into 7 different parts for easy listening. If you decide to buy the album, a donation of $3 is asked, but more is greatly appreciated. All profits will be given to the fund for "Keep Music In Schools".
Creepy, beautiful, experimental funk & stupidly intricate guitar work.

Mick Boogie - 'Excursions: Rarities and Remixes of A Tribe Called Quest'

Mick Boogie, via the 4AM Crew, was so stoked on the new Tribe documentary that he decided to create a mix to commemorate the occasion. It's dope.

Stream the mix, download it, and remember- keep bouncin'.

The Devil Makes Three

Outlaw music for the modern man, courtesy of CA trio The Devil Makes Three. With awesome storytelling skills, they play classic blues, grass, folk, country, or whatever genre you'd like, with a flavor that Johnny Cash, Jack White and John Hartford would all agree with. Comparisons aside, The Devil Makes Three is the real damn deal, and the three songs below are my picks from their self-titled record.

They're going to be in Philly and NY later this month,
Tour Dates, shots and live footage here.

Trampled by Turtles - "Schoolbus Driver"

"I want to be a school bus driver, And drive all over the world
If you would like, well you could ride with me, and we could live on the road
We cruise by the banks,
Rivers deep and wide,
Never have to think 'bout space or time"
That pretty much sums it up. This song never fails to put a smile on my face. This is off their album 'Songs From a Ghost Town', which is good, but 'Blue Sky and the Devil' is unbeatable if this is your jam.

SCI @ Electric Forest Festival, Night 1

Setting aside the 2 dozen other bands I saw this past weekend in the forest, I have to say that Cheese put on one of the best shows I've ever seen in mah lyfe. Simple as that. They were incredible. Someone with a really good camera caught the entire first night and just put it up on youtube in 12 parts, the sound quality is close to SBD. Setlist below, more videos to come.
